The Cigar:

The unique ‘extra fermentation’ that is conducted on the Seco and Legero of all Cohibas lasts for eighteen months and is conducted at the factory in cedar barrels. This extra age creates a unique taste. The famous Cohiba flavour is most often described as ‘Grassy’, although others have noticed tones of vanilla, cocoa and coffee. It is often noted how this extra fermentation makes the taste ‘smoother’ and more refined. Min Ron NEE, in his book An Illustrated Encyclopaedia of Post-Revolution Havana Cigars says of the Siglo range “Mild, creamy sweetness, medium bean flavour, subtle ‘Cohiba’ Grassy taste, mild floral and herbal flavours”. The American publication Cigar Aficionado scored this cigar an impressive 93 out of 100 in a recent review, saying “A lot of flavour in a small cigar. Beautifully crafted with a rich chocolate wrapper, it is soft-textured and sumptuous to smoke, with dark chocolate and spice aromas and flavours”

The Davidoff Grand Cru No. 2 is a slightly longer Corona, higher proportion of Ligero tobacco gives the complex nut and wood flavors of Grand Cru No. 2 unforeseen strength and depth. The Grand Cru No. 2 is mild in strenght, but full in complexed flavors.

Grand Cru No. 3’s higher leaf density and percentage of Piloto tobacco emphasizes spicy components for a slightly bolder sophisticated pleasure.

The smallest of Montecristo’s original, tightly defined range. A good pressed cigar with a flavour and aroma that develops during smoking. A faithful companion almost anywhere.

The Ramon Allones Perfecto was the cigar chosen by Mexican importer IEPT, together with Habanos SA, as the Regional Edition cigar for the Mexican market in 2020.

As the name suggests, this Cuban Cigar comes in a Perfecto shape. That is, tapered at both ends as it used to be the norm in the 19th century. Nowadays Perfecto cigars are a much rarer find so we welcome this decision by the regional distributor. 

The cigar presents itself incredibly well made, with deep tobacco aromas exuding from the 10-count boxes they are packaged in. Production was set at 60,000 cigars which means only 6,000 numbered boxes were made.

This Vitola, also known as Taco, comes in at 158mm in length by 47 rings. A most interesting format offering about one and a half-hour of pure enjoyment.
