The H. Upmann Super Magnum Colección Habanos 2020 Book is the latest addition to the ultra successful book series known as Colección Habanos. That is, book humidors filled with a unique blend and shape of a cigar.

For this particular issue, Habanos chose a very popular marca: H. Upmann. The format, just like with most of Habanos books, is very impressive. Coming in at 56 ring-gauge by 180mm in length, this Cuban Cigar is set to become an instant sensation across collectors markets worldwide.

The H. Upmann Super Magnum comes packed in the traditional book humidor with 20 Super Magnum cigars inside.

The Connossieur B is available in boxes of 25 and single sticks.

Anyway, the first thing to know about this release is that it’s only available at La Casa del Habano shops and Habanos Specialists. Habanos Specialist is a label created by Habanos SA to distinguish shops that carry a wide selection of Cubans and can offer relevant advice.

The Cigar:

The first 31 /2 inch (90mm) Havana to be introduced since the Second World War. Its forebear, called the Half-a-Corona, was in its day the biggest selling Havana size by far.

H.Upmann Magnum 50

The Cigar:

Piloted as one of the highly successful 2005 Edicion Limitadas, the Magnum 50 entered the range as a standard size in 2008. A big cigar, just over six inches in length, that delivers a rounded, mellow flavour and aroma.

H. Upmann is classified as Light to Medium by Habanos S.A, the Cuban company
responsible for the global marketing and distribution of Cuban cigars.

The H. Upmann taste is often said to have a clear and clean tobacco taste, often
mistakenly described as ‘simple’ by less experienced smokers.

The American publication, Cigar Aficionado scored this cigar 89 out of 100 in a February
2017 review, saying "This cigar exudes a pleasant, toasty aroma as it burns. Floral intonations segue into a strong peanut character with touches of cinnamon, woodiness and a mineral finish.”

Although relatively young this cigar is already smoking very well and exhibiting many
classic H. Upmann flavours. However, it seems destined to develop even more once it
has acquired two or three years age.

H. Upmann No.2 Reserva 2014

The Cigar

A clean, cultivated and congenial blend, this often overlooked light to medium flavoured cigar is full of nuance and subtlety for those who know where to look. Anything but simple.

The H. Upmann Noellas Cigar was created for those devoted to the H.Upmann Cigars brand - who want to take a trip back in time with these Cuban cigars, which are presented in a glass jar from the 80s.

It features a Cosacos vitola - measuring 135mm by a 42 ring gauge. It's filled with the finest leaves from Vuelta Abajo in Cuba.

It provides a light-medium smoke - with flavours typical of H. Upmann. 

H. Upmann Regalias

The H. Upmann Regalias is the third of four planned releases that will comprise the new Linea Retro from Habanos and, as it has been made with H. Upmann’s signature light-to-medium blend, it is the lightest in the series to date.

All four releases are Mareva size cigars (5 1/8” x 42) presented in retro tins of five, in a style fashionable during the 1970s.

Each pack is subtly different and the H. Upmann Regalias tin has a removable top, a yellow interior and a curved edge reminiscent of  a hipflask.

Until its discontinuation in 2002, the H. Upmann Regalias was a machine-made cigar not found in the UK. However, it has since been reintroduced as a long-filler handmade cigar and is available for the first time in Britain in this new presentation. It is expected that labelled boxes of 25 cigars will be available in the near future.

An elegant and subtle Robusto with all of the characteristic Light to Medium flavours associated with the Upmann brand. Presented in labelled boxes of 25 cigars, something of a rarity since 2009.

A late special edition release, limited to 5000 numbered boxes of 10 made exclusively for La Casa del Habano franchises. The size selected for the production is based on an Edmundo and is highly respected by Habanos connoisseurs across the globe.

H. UPMANN
Herman Upmann was a banker from Germany who so loved Cuban cigars that he moved to Havana in 1844 and set up as both banker and cigar maker. His bank closed in the early 1920's but his cigars live on as a fine example of an elegant,light to medium flavoured Habano. 

H. Upmann's blend is composed exclusively of filler and binder tobaccos grown in the Vuelta Abajo zone. 

Gold medals in no less than eleven international exhibitions during the 19th Century can be found on the brand's labelled boxes.
