The Chefs Edition 2025 blend incorporates select tobaccos from Davidoff's iconic White Band Collection, mirroring the chef's signature lightness and finesse. To introduce fresh notes while enhancing complexity, Davidoff's Master Blenders meticulously experimented with a variety of tobaccos and ageing techniques.

Amongst other tobaccos, additional highlights of the blend include a Dominican San Vicente that was patiently aged for 15 years for exceptional depth, a Dominican hybrid tobacco for fresh lemon notes and a Dominican Piloto that was aged in Yagua bales for five years – a technique that has never been applied to tobacco in a Davidoff cigar before. The meticulous, labour-intensive traditional method involves carefully wrapping the tobacco in natural Yagua palm leaves, whose fibrous texture allows for a more refined ageing environment. The cigar opens with notes of cayenne pepper, followed by sweet whipped cream. The Yagua-aged tobacco brings complex floral aromas to the blend. As the journey continues, an impressive bouquet of flavours emerges. Cayenne pepper is still present in the retrohale, while notes of perfumy rosewood, leather and a subtle hint of lemon entertain the palate. Towards the end of the cigar, the intensity increases slightly, unveiling a crescendo of fresh spice, coffee and oak wood. Perfumed flavours from the second third give way to more robust notes. The Year of the Dragon Limited Edition completes Davidoff’s cycle of twelve consecutive celebrations around a Chinese zodiac. The brand honors the important year with several limited-edition products inspired by the Dragon and its fascinating personality. 

The powerful Dragon requires an equal format, making this zodiac’s cigar the biggest creation out of all “Year of” executions to date. The double corona carries an eye-catching foot ring which covers the uncut part of the cigar. This enables aficionados to enjoy the first inch/2.5 cm of the masterpiece without the wrapper leaf, which creates an intriguing play of flavors and visualizes the Dragon spitting fire.

The blend consists of 8 tobaccos, combined for a total of 60 years aging. In 2024, this number will match the age of a person born in 1964, which is also a Year of the Dragon. This year’s edition comes in a handsome box of ten cigars. The top surface of the box shows a captivating iridescent varnished dragon skin pattern all over. The powerful Year of the Dragon icon in the center holds a pearl, which in Chinese culture symbolizes wisdom, prosperity and fortune.

It marks the beginning of the second cycle of the calendar, making it a significant release. The cigars boast a blend of an Ecuadorian wrapper, binder, and fillers sourced from the Dominican Republic and Mexico's renowned San Andrés Valley. This is also the first time the brand incorporates a Dominican hybrid seed 98 from the prestigious Martín García region, situated west of Mao and south of Monte Cristi.
