Distillery: Trinidad Distillers Limited (TDL), Trinidad
Rums from Trinidad are known to be light bodied, and delicate with a natural sweetness and a smooth finish.
Our discovery of Cask Number 1 Rotation R1023 is a superb reflection of everything you would expect, and more, from a Trinidad Rum, packed full of tropical fruity tones, sweet caramel and smoky tobacco flavours.
This Rum was distilled in 2012 by Trinidad Distillers, the sole remaining distillery in Trinidad and for nine years this Rum tropically aged in the warm humidity of Trinidad, which lies just off the coast of South America, in ex-Bourbon Whiskey casks, before it was shipped to the UK for a further three years of continental ageing in our much cooler temperate climate before it was bottled by House of Rum in 2023.
Nose – Wonderful ripe pineapple, followed by tropical, exuberant fruity notes of mango reminiscent of a bustling Caribbean street market
Palate – Initial luscious caramel sweet sensation followed by opulent notes of sweet dates and currants. Smooth, with lingering smoky tobacco and malt loaf notes in the finish.
The Distillery
Trinidad Distiller was established in 1948 in Laventille, Trinidad, as the manufacturing hub for Angostura Bitters. Since then, it has been producing a wide array of rums, bitters, and liqueurs under the Angostura and, from the 1970s onwards, Fernandes brands. Following the closure of the iconic Caroni in 2003, TDL stands as the sole rum distillery in Trinidad.
House of Rum Venezuela 2005 CAaDC – XO Reserve Gift Set
ISC 2025 Double Gold Medal winner
Cask Number 43 Rotation Number 17/V376
140 Bottles
Cask Strength 57% abv
Bottled in 2021
Distillery: Corporation Alcohols del Caribe Distillery (CADC), Venezuela
This is the first cask that House of Rum ever bottled, so for us this is our most valuable and important cask. So much so that it deserved a special gift box with its own unique decanter and two hand-made 24% lead, Cumbria Crystal Glasses.
Cask number 43, Rotation 17/V376 only shared with us 140 bottles so this truly is a rare and unique offering. The Rum is incredibly smooth with woody notes and a sweet chocolatey finish.
Its maturation journey is long and varied. First distilled in Venezuela in 2005 at the CADC distillery, the Rum was placed into French Oak casks which had previously held Brandy and it remained in Venezuela tropically ageing for eight years before travelling north to the island of the Dominican Republic for a further four years of maturation under the warm Caribbean sun.
In 2017 it was shipped across the Atlantic where it remained in an ex-Brandy cask continentally ageing in the much cooler European climate for a further five years before being bottled by House of Rum in 2021.
Corporation Alcohols del Caribe (CADC) is a renowned Caribbean rum distillery founded in the 1920s. Over the decades, it has overcome economic challenges and natural disasters, continuously innovating to remain a leader in the industry. Its signature blend, introduced in the mid-20th century, gained international acclaim, helping CADC expand globally.
Despite worldwide success, CADC stays true to its Caribbean roots, prioritizing sustainability and community development. Today, it continues to craft exceptional rums, blending tradition with innovation to uphold its legacy of excellence

Distillery: Compañía Licorera de Nicaragua
Rums from Nicaragua are known for their smooth elegance, with soft tropical notes and a gentle richness that reflects the country’s long-standing rum-making tradition.
Our discovery of Cask Number 253, Rotation Z04/3944, is a superb representation of everything you would hope to find in a well-aged Nicaraguan Rum—layered with soft fruit, delicate candy sweetness, and floral hints of violet. The palate is long and silky, revealing notes of banana and sweet oak that linger beautifully.
This Rum was distilled in 2004 at Compañía Licorera de Nicaragua, a family-owned distillery and one of the most respected in the region. It spent nine years aging undisturbed in the tropical heat of Nicaragua, in an American Oak ex-Bourbon cask sealed with traditional plantain leaves. In 2013, it was brought to the UK, where it matured for a further twelve years in our cooler continental climate, before being bottled by House of Rum in 2025.
Aged 21 years and bottled at 58.8% ABV with no sugar or additives, only 220 bottles were produced—capturing the full complexity, depth, and authenticity of this exceptional rum.
The Distillery
The Compañía Licorera de Nicaragua distillery’s humble roots date back to 1890. Located in the small town of Chichigalpa near the west coast of Nicaragua at the base of the San Cristóbal Volcano, surrounded by sugarcane plantations which thrive in the tropical wet and dry climate of the region. The 125 year old distillery has been family-owned for five generations and it prides itself on sustainable practices, including carbon-neutral production and Fair Trade certification. The distillery has gained international recognition for its high-quality, naturally aged rums with no sugar added, crafted using volcanic-filtered water, the most famous being Flor de Caña.
